Collagen-Stimulating Skin Rejuvenation, Tailored to You

If you'd like smoother-looking, fresher skin, microneedling is a well-loved treatment for helping to refine texture, soften the look of fine lines and improve the appearance of scarring. At Clear Calm Skin, every treatment is chosen for your skin after a proper consultation, and finished with a relaxing treatment you'll look forward to.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling uses very fine needles to create tiny, controlled channels in the skin. This encourages your skin's natural renewal process, including collagen production, which helps skin look smoother, firmer and more even over time.

I use the Genosys pen, which has hexagonal-shaped needles designed for a comfortable experience, and most clients find it very comfortable. Your treatment is adapted to your skin and your goals, so no two appointments are exactly the same.

What it can help with

- Rough or uneven skin texture

- Fine lines and the overall look of the skin

- The appearance of scarring, including acne scarring

- Dull, tired-looking skin

- Enlarged-looking pores

What's included

Every microneedling treatment includes:

- A skin consultation and tailored treatment using the Genosys pen

- No numbing cream needed

-A cooling mask with a neck and shoulder massage

- A Dermalux LED treatment

- Your choice of a relaxing hand and arm massage or Reiki

- A post-procedure kit to take home

What to expect

1. Consultation: we talk through your skin, your goals, your skincare routine and your health history, so the treatment is chosen safely for you.

2. Prepare: your skin is cleansed and prepared.

3. Microneedling: the treatment is carried out carefully across your skin with the Genosys pen and a serum, and I check in with you throughout.

4. A Genosys mask is applied whilst you relax with a neck and shoulder massage.

5. Dermalux LED: you relax under LED light therapy, with a hand and arm massage or Reiki.

5. Aftercare: you go home with a post-procedure kit and clear instructions to protect and care for your skin.

Downtime and aftercare

Your skin will usually look pink or feel a little warm and tight afterwards, a bit like mild sunburn, which settles over the following day or two. Most clients return to their normal routine quickly, but I'll talk through what to expect for you.

Your post-procedure kit and aftercare advice will guide you through the days that follow. To help your skin heal well, I'll ask you to avoid heat (such as saunas, steam rooms and hot baths), swimming, direct sun and makeup for a short time, and to use daily SPF.

How many treatments will I need?

A single treatment can leave skin looking fresher, but the best results usually come from a course of treatments spaced a few weeks apart. I'll recommend a plan to suit your skin and concerns.

Is microneedling right for me?

Microneedling isn't suitable for everyone, or at every time. Please let me know before booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, cold sore, open wounds or inflamed breakouts, have a history of keloid scarring, are taking certain medications (including blood thinners or acne medication), or have recently had sun exposure or other skin treatments. I'll go through your health and skin history at your consultation. If you're unsure, a Skin Education & Consultation (£50, including a complimentary Dermalux session) is a great place to start.

Frequently asked questions

Does microneedling hurt?

Most clients find it very comfortable, and no numbing cream is needed. The Genosys pen uses hexagonal-shaped needles designed for a gentler experience, and you may feel a mild tingling sensation. I check in with you throughout and adjust to keep you comfortable.

Will my skin look red afterwards?

Usually, yes. Your skin will look pink for a short while, like mild sunburn, then settle over a day or two.

How soon will I see results?

Skin often looks fresher and glowing soon after it settles, while collagen-related changes build gradually over the following weeks.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Yes, I'll advise on what works well together and what to space apart. A Dermalux LED treatment is already included.

What's included in the price?

Your microneedling treatment with the Genosys pen, a Dermalux LED treatment, a post-procedure kit, and either a hand and arm massage or Reiki.

Where are you based?

I'm in Exeter (EX2), and I see clients on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and the last Saturday of each month.
